A gicleé print begins with a digital file taken from a directly from the original painting. It is checked for accurate color (hue, saturation, brightness) and sharpness. Next, the file is sent to a state-of-the-art, large-format inkjet printer. Millions of microscopic droplets of archival pigmented ink are sprayed onto a specially prepared canvas producing a vibrant image that is faithful to the original painting. Each print is protected with a UV block coating to ensure maximum longevity of the image. The prints are then mounted on artist’s canvas stretchers ready for framing. This unique process allows the print to be framed without glass, greatly enhancing the viewing experience.
